Kolkata braces for historic PM Modi rally at Brigade, city turns into sea of saffron

Thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters have poured into Kolkata since Saturday morning ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-anticipated rally at the iconic Brigade Parade Ground.

Even before the Prime Minister’s arrival, the ground is overflowing, with an estimated 10 lakh people gathering to witness the historic event. The city has transformed into a vibrant sea of saffron.

Organised by the BJP, this mega-event will also serve as the culmination of the party’s statewide ‘Parivartan Yatra’ campaign ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Security arrangements have been significantly heightened across key locations, including the RCTC ground, to manage the massive turnout and ensure the event proceeds smoothly.

The rally is scheduled for the afternoon, during which PM Modi is set to inaugurate development projects worth approximately Rs 18,680 crore, marking his first visit to West Bengal after the publication of the post-SIR electoral rolls on February 28.

Speaking ahead of the rally, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh stated, “This event is expected to draw large crowds and energise BJP workers and supporters across Bengal. The change is inevitable, and the BJP will rise to power in Bengal.”
